Titan Marching Band Coaches
Ms. Lopez-Perez graduated Magna Cum Laude from University of Puerto Rico with a B.A. in Hispanic Studies, with a concentration in Spanish education in 2006. She won the Prize for the Best Student in the Education Program. Mrs. Lopez was president of her home town folkloric dance group in Puerto Rico. She is completing her master's degree in Spanish Literature. She teaches Spanish Level 2 and 3. Jenise is our Color Guard sponsor and she also sponsors the Spanish Club.
Andy Brock serves as the Woodwind Coach for the Titan Marching Band, and has been a Band Director with Chesterfield County Public Schools since 1999. He lives in Midlothian with his wife Bonnie and their children, Emma and Dylan. Mr. Brock is proud to be the Band Director at Tomahawk Creek Middle School. Previously, he directed bands at Carver Middle School and Robious Middle School. Mr. Brock has been fortunate enough to be an Adjunct Professor at Longwood University, where he directs the Jazz Ensemble B and is also an instructor of Applied Saxophone. Lastly, Mr. Brock has been in the Army Reserve since 1995.
Mr. Buck serves as “upper brass coach” for the Titan Marching Band, assisting with individual and group brass instruction. After graduating from Manchester High School in 1962, he attended East Carolina University where he received his Bachelors of Music Education degree in 1966 and Masters of Music Education degree in 1972. He retired in June, 2005 after teaching 39 years, all in Chesterfield.
During his tenure in Chesterfield, Mr. Buck taught at Matoaca High School, Thomas Dale High School, Monacan High School, Chester Middle School, Carver Middle School,Middle School, and Bailey Bridge Middle School. He is an active adjudicator for band festivals in the mid-Atlantic region and is an active guest conductor and clinician of bands.
Kevin Crawford coaches the Titan Band percussion section. He has been a percussion instructor in Henrico and Chesterfield County for 17 years. He was an assistant percussion instructor at Hermitage High School for 2 years and lead percussion instructor at Thomas Jefferson for one year. Kevin was an assistant instructor at James River High School for 4 years and served as Director of Percussion at James River for 10 years. He was also the director of James River’s indoor percussion ensemble Rapidfire.
Stefan serves as the “low brass” coach for the Titan Marching Band, assisting with individual and group brass instruction. Stefan grew up in Chesterfield County. He studied at East Carolina University and Virginia Commonwealth University. Stefan is currently performing with the No B.S. Brass, Commonwealth Winds, and the Mingus Awareness Project. As a teacher, Stefan has privately taught many of the leading low brass musicians in both District I and District III and is the adjunct brass and jazz specialist at Lee-Davis, Varina, and Woodberry Forest high schools.
Erica is from Chesapeake, VA and is a 2005 graduate of Deep Creek High School and a 2009 graduate of James Madison University where she earned her bachelors in Instrumental Music Education. She has taught guard at the JMU Summer Band Camps and is the choreographer for several outstanding high school guards around the state. She is currently the band director at Robious Middle School.
Brad is a recent graduate from VCU with a bachelor degree in Music Education.He has studied trumpet and percussion. Brad marched with the Jersey Surf drum corps for 5 years starting in 2006. Brad has worked with the Richmond Salvation Army becoming the youngest Band Master of the Richmond Citadel at the age of 19. Brad currently resides on the Eastern Shore where he is a music teacher at Occohannock Elementary School teaching Pre-K through 6 general music and two band classes. also runs a youth choir, guitar ensemble, and an Orff Ensemble at OES. Brad helps with the marching/visual program and the upper brass for the Titan Marching Band.
Marcus started his musical life as a singer at age 4 and has since grown to love and adore music and musicians of every type. Marcus is a young teacher, trumpet player, and composer pursuing a masters degree in Music Performance at the Jacobs School of Music. Composing is a strong passion; Marcus specializes in Wind Ensemble, Chamber Ensemble, and Marching Arts music. To his credit, Marcus' compositions and arrangements have been performed on numerous football fields, concert halls, conferences, and seminars around the world. Marcus is the official Composer and Arranger in Residence with The Brass Roots, located in Pittsburgh, PA. Above everything else, Marcus devotes his life to the promotion and enrichment of quality music education for young people. He served this year as our music arranger and band camp staff.
Lenny is a Cosby graduate (class of 2011) and is a percussion coach for the TMB. He is a former TMB drum captain and a two-time All-Virginia percussionist, making him one of the state’s best performers on his instrument. Lenny is currently a student at VCU.
